Our Story
Authentic baladi food for 50 years
Since 1978, العم مشمش has been serving the finest baladi grills in Alexandria. We started from our Shads branch with one dream — to let everyone taste authentic baladi food with quality that never changes.
From day one, العم مشمش chose to be different — kofta from premium ribeye and costaletta cuts, and the tenderest cut of the whole calf (the fillet). Every customer deserves to taste real baladi meat with nothing masking its true flavor — which is why our seasoning is salt and black pepper, nothing else. Our meats are 100% fresh baladi daily, grilled with 50+ years of expertise.

The Beginning
Am Mshmsh's journey began in 1978, when he turned his passion for grilling into a lifelong path. Back then grilled food belonged to the night owls and lovers of authentic baladi taste — and through dedication and love he built a name known among grill lovers.
A New Venture
After years of success in grilling, Am Mshmsh ventured into a new field — seafood — a chapter few know about. But life had other plans…
Starting from Zero
He faced great challenges and lost everything he had built over years of hard work. But surrender was never part of who he was. He travelled to Jordan with his expertise and passion, started again from zero, and drew on Levantine culture and its grilling craft.
Back to the Original Home
Am Mshmsh returned to his roots and the original home in 2006 with greater expertise and a clearer vision — and the philosophy he always believed in: real grilling needs no complexity, just excellent meat and the right cooking. He kept his simple, well-known seasoning: salt and black pepper.
The Next Generation
In 2015 Mohamed Mshmsh joined the journey to continue his father's path and protect the legacy built over decades. The goal was clear: elevate the experience, service and quality — while keeping the same authentic taste and the same principles.
Sidi Bishr Branch
2024 saw the opening of the Sidi Bishr branch — a new step in a journey that began more than four decades ago, sustained by our customers' trust and their love for real taste.
